Endurance

Wild horses in shaggy winter coats, grazing under mammatus filled skies in the arid Great Basin Desert. This was an unexpected encounter while out hiking on a cold February day, playing tourist in an area where life itself is a daily struggle to the residents sturdy enough to endure it. I came across this pair as I crested a small hill, equally surprised to see one another. They indulged me just long enough to take a few frames before turning their backs and galloping away in the sage fields.
